Kitcast is a leading digital signage software solution, specifically favored for its seamless Apple TV integration. The digital signage market is fiercely competitive, with players like Raydiant and ScreenCloud vying for dominance.

The challenge for Kitcast wasn’t just “ranking for digital signage”, it was ranking for the specific use cases that drive enterprise revenue. A hospital administrator searches differently than a retail store manager. To win these distinct customers, Kitcast needed to prove to Google that it wasn’t just a generic tool, but a specialized expert in Corporate Communications, Retail Marketing, and Hospitality.

Goals

The campaign was structured as a “Link-based” authority initiative. In the face of broad search volatility, the objective was to fortify the domain’s core strength and build a “moat” around high-value industry pages.

Primary goals included:

  • Deep-Link to Industries: Bypass the homepage to drive equity directly to vertical landing pages (e.g., /industry/gym-digital-signage, /industry/corporate-communications).

  • Increase Domain Rating (DR): Push the site past the DR 50 threshold to compete with enterprise-tier competitors.

  • Contextual Relevance: Secure links from publications that match the target vertical (e.g., HR blogs linking to Corporate pages, Retail blogs linking to Store pages).

Strategy

LinkPanda executed a “Vertical-Match” Strategy. We aligned the source of the link with the specific destination page to create a perfect “relevance loop.”

Key Strategic Components:

  1. The Corporate & HR Cluster: To target internal communication teams, we built links from HR and Workplace Management platforms.

    • HR Tech Context: We secured placements on Peoplespheres and Huntr (HR & Hiring platforms).

    • Target: These linked directly to Kitcast’s /industry/digital-signage-for-corporate-communications page.

    • Anchor Strategy: We used problem-aware anchors like “share as much information to employees” and “workplace communication,” creating a strong semantic connection between the link and the solution.

  2. The Retail & Sales Cluster To capture the brick-and-mortar market, we targeted eCommerce and Sales publications.

    • Retail Authority: A guest post on OpenCart (major eCommerce platform) linked to the /industry/retail-digital-signage page with the anchor “intuitive signage in a store.”

    • Sales Enablement: Placements on Salesmate and Kyleads linked Kitcast to “promoting your product” and “visual content in sales,” reinforcing the tool’s value as a revenue driver.

  3. Niche Vertical Expansion We didn’t stop at the big industries; we targeted specific niches to own the long tail.

    • Gyms: A link from WeTest linked “fitness in promoting overall health” to the Gym Digital Signage page.

    • Hospitality: A placement on Voxco connected “guest experience” directly to the Hospitality industry page.

Results

This campaign was about structural fortification. By building a diverse, vertical-specific backlink profile, we significantly increased the site’s “trust flow” in its most important categories.

  • Domain Rating Breakout: The site successfully climbed from DR 49 to 55 (+12.24%). Crossing into the mid-50s is critical for a SaaS company to rank for competitive “head terms.”

  • 22.45% Growth in Referring Domains: We grew the referring domain count from 775 to 949. Adding nearly 175 new domains in 4 months creates a much wider foundation of authority.

  • Strategic Deep Linking: Unlike competitors who often hoard links on their homepage, Kitcast now has strong external authority pointing directly to its money-making industry pages (Gyms, Retail, Corporate).

  • Traffic Note: While the site experienced some organic volatility during this period (traffic dip of 29%), the Authority metrics (DR and Ref Domains) moved in a positive direction. This “Link-Based” investment provides the necessary “horsepower” for the domain to recover and rank higher in the long term.

Conclusion

Kitcast’s case study demonstrates the importance of Contextual Deep Linking.

By matching the link source (e.g., an HR blog) to the specific destination (Corporate Comms page), LinkPanda helped Kitcast build a sophisticated, semantic link graph that generic link building cannot achieve.

We didn’t just build links; we built industry relevance.

Summary

For multi-use SaaS products, your links need to be as specific as your customers. We helped Kitcast speak directly to HR, Retail, and Hospitality managers through search.

  • Key Lesson: Align your backlink source with your target vertical page to maximize relevance.

  • Impact: A DR jump to 55 and strong authority injection into key industry pages.
